Model# PL-8 II

Linear Filtering Technology eliminates AC line noise protects your valuable electronic equipment from damaging voltage spikes

You Can't Afford NOT to Have Power Protection!
The Furman PL-8 II Power Conditioner is what you need to protect your valuable equipment from power spikes and sags, it will correct over voltage and under voltage. With 8 back-panel outlets and 1 front outlet and a 15-amp rating and a built-in circuit breaker, you can connect a rack full of gear and rest assured that no damaging voltage spikes or dirty power will reach your equipment.

Power line disturbances are real, and they are inevitable. According to Consumer Reports (November, 1994), "One significant surge a day is the norm. High-exposure areas may experience perhaps a hundred smallish spikes a day." Proper protection is essential for costly equipment, even more so if it is frequently moved from location to location.

The PL-8 protects your delicate electronic equipment by combining a high voltage surge and transient suppressor with an RFI/EMI interference filter. The fast-acting suppression circuit responds in nanoseconds, clamping spikes and surges to safe levels. The filter works to prevent noise from fluorescent lights, electric motors, radio transmitters, and similar. Superior technology for unparalleled protection and performance. A master switch controls operation of the rear outlets, and the front-panel circuit breaker can be quickly and easily reset should the unit be overloaded. The Series II conditioners come with a 10', 14-gauge, heavy-duty power cable. The maintenance-free SMP surge suppression handles the most extreme transient voltage spikes are safely absorbed, clamped, and dissipated without destruction of the circuit.

An advanced Series Multi-Stage Protection Plus (SMP+) circuit provides rock-solid, maintenance-free extreme surge suppression with zero ground contamination thanks to Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT). Unit has 8 rear-panel outlets and one front-panel outlet, a 15-amp rating with circuit breaker, LiFT takes ensures optimal performance through linear filtering with no leakage to ground, protecting the audio and video quality of your signal.

This unit has a super-bright, long-life, retractable LED rack lights that produce virtually no heat and provide an extremely long life span. There is an on/off/dimmer control for the lights. A BNC back panel connector will accommodate a gooseneck lamp included for rear-rack illumination. A front panel switch controls the gooseneck's operation. The Series II units occupy one rack unit space and has a convenient front-panel mounted outlet. You've spent thousands on your gear, and the PL-8II is a very affordable way to protect your investment.

Series Mode Protection means no down time!
Featureing maintenance-free SMP surge suppression that virtually eliminates service calls. Traditional surge suppression circuits "sacrifice" themselves when exposed to multiple transient voltage spikes, requiring replacement or repair of your surge suppressor. Not so with SMP. With Furman's SMP, damaging transient voltages are safely absorbed, clamped and dissipated. In cases of extreme transient voltages the PL-8 II safely shuts itself, and everything connected to it, down. No sacrificed parts, no service calls, no down time. Unparalleled clamping voltage doesn't come at the expense of safety! While other designs offer clamping voltages that are well above 300VAC peak, (far beyond accepted professional standards), Furman's SMP clamps at 188VAC peak, 133 VAC RMS even when tested with multiple 6000VAC, 3000 amp surges! This unprecedented level of protection is only available with Furman's SMP technology. Additionally the PL-8 II contains Furman's trusted over-voltage circuitry to protect against accidental connections to 208 or 240VAC, by shutting off the incoming power until the over voltage condition is corrected. The PL-8 II also guarantees zero leakage of AC power to ground. Can you afford NOT to have it?
